If you ask me for a tailgate recipe, ham delights are the first thing I will recommend you make for Saturdays in the South. I remember eating these as a little girl at tailgates, they were always my favorite. They are still a game day staple for my family years later.

Here’s the tried and true Ham Delight Recipe:

2 packages of party rolls

1 lb. Thinly sliced ham

1 Package swiss cheese slices

1 stick butter

2 tbsp mustard

2 tbsp of Worcestershire

1 1/2 tbsp poppy seeds

1/4 Finely chopped onion (optional)

Bread: If I can find them, I go old school with the tiny dinner rolls that come in the metal trays, but those are awfully hard to find these days. Party rolls or King’s Hawaiian are fine, you just don’t want them to be too big.

What to do:

Melt the butter, add mustard, worcestershire and poppy seeds. Assemble sandwiches with ham and cheese and pour mixture on top. Slice before serving. Cover in foil and bake at 350 for 20 minutes. ENJOY. this tailgate recipe and stay tuned for more!
